I found an old kaleidoscope kit the other day and decided to build it. I loved the look of the images it created so much that I decided to photograph it:

This led me to create a bigger scale kaleidoscope to expand on the options. The results were inspiring. They appealed to me in particular because of the ‘generative art’ aspect, which is a passion of mine. The idea of mixing some of my computer generated art pieces with physical mirrors and lights rather excites me. I have decided to develop this project; more reflective sides, motion, and through the scale of the kaleidoscopes themselves. I’d love to build one big enough to stand in…but one step at a time.
